Meet Board-Certified Orthodontist
Dr. J. Dempsey Smith, DMD, MS
Dr. Smith is a native of North Carolina, valedictorian of his high school, top of his class in dental school, and lauded graduate of UNC. I guess you could say he was really good in school.
However, we think it's his passion for people and what orthodontics can accomplish to improve their lives that really sets him apart. As a board-certified orthodontist, Dr. Smith creates beautiful smiles in our community every day.
Education & Experience
Dr. Smith spent years studying to become an orthodontist. As a committed student, he remained at the top of his class throughout his undergraduate and graduate careers.
After completing dental school, Dr. Smith went on to serve in the Navy for four years, achieving the rank of Lieutenant Commander.
Dr. Smith is certified by the American Board of Orthodontists, something less than 30% of orthodontists achieve.
Today, Dr. Smith cherishes the opportunity to create healthy, beautiful smiles for patients of all ages throughout Chapel Hill, Durham, Mebane, and Roxboro.
Outside of the Office
Dr. Smith is married to his high school sweetheart, Stacey. They live in Durham and have 3 kids. So it would seem that he comes by his love of dad honestly. When not in the office, he enjoys traveling, tennis and working out.
